Life is but a play
You set the stage
Will it be colorful or fun?
Adventuresome or boring?
Dramatic or downcast?
It’s all up to you
For it’s your singular curtain call
On a good day you may direct
Mostly you perform
Often you can only watch and wait for the unknown to happen
Sometimes you even find yourself a stage hand in another’s play
But inevitably you tear down the set
And start anew in the next scene

Take just a moment at intermission
Trek through the dusty nooks and crannies backstage
Search amidst those stashed props
Among your noble honors, dastardly deeds and vast in-betweens
There lies your story - there lies your truth
Tucked inside a jeweled velvet pouch
Don’t be afraid to take it home tonight
Share it with caring confidants
Be proud to embrace it
