Paperweight 02/08/07

Tallahassee / Quincy, Florida

Those of you that have followed my Pad through the last couple of years know that I’m delighted with “Crystal Balls”, the beauty, weight and texture of the clear orbs. My interests also include glass paperweights and the beauty that can often be found in them. This is a rather large crystal paperweight, surprisingly heavy … solid glass with an embedded colored glass pattern embedded within it. The actual size of the paperweight is almost four inches across, and as I already said, it’s surprisingly heavy being almost two and a half inches thick.

I can sit for hours almost mesmerized by gazing deep inside at the pattern that the glass makes. Such a simple thing ... but it calms me and is a joy to ponder.

Hey … it’s a guy thing. What can I say?

Very nice capture John. I like the dark corners to draw attention to this beautiful color and pattern.
