I enjoy taking people shots for the very reason I love the expression on their faces. I try hard to get as close as possible to the subject. Normally it's a lot easier with children, they are less threatening and more obliging than adults. From my photo shooting experience, I found the location of where you shoot does make a difference. I realised that it's a lot easier to shoot people of the rural vicinity than in the urban community. They would pose for you generously without being overly conscious of themselves. Maybe it's rare that they get their photos taken or maybe it's so often that they are proud to be seeing themselves in the photo or even hoping to get their images published to the world. I have no idea. I only presume it's the `rare' opportunity that makes a lot difference in the pose and their expression. It appears to be more natural giving the `rustic' look and feeling. The shots I took in Cambodia are a lot more meaningful. The photographs seems to have a little bit more `ummph' to them, being so natural and unpretentious. I spotted this little girl rocking herself to sleep on a handmade hammock in the streets of Siem Reap.
