Just a little something that caught my eye on the way to work. Certainly not the fanciest of compositions but I thought it was a pretty little scene regardless.
You were not joking ehh... Dutch ancestry ehhh... What I tried to explain earlier was that the Dutch settled in many parts of the US before the French and the English started fighting wars over "their" territories. The Dutch traded their settlements in the US for one of the spice colonies in South America; Guyana, which became Dutch Guyana and eventually Surinam. Manhattan was actually sold for a few guinnies. The Dutch had purchased the Indian land for an equivalent of $24 and later sold it back to the English with the trade of Surinam. History... Hehehe, history indeed. But back to this shot, a fantastic red building in contrast with the blue sky and the reflection in the water. A stunning colour capture. Well seen and superbly immortalized.
This is really a beautiful place andrew , I like the blue sky and the reflection from this blue at the water, the red house had catched my eyes as well, vote, Rosemarie :o)
