218 ft. Cementation boat- Mexico

I ran this boat for almost 3 years in Mexico. It is now in the U.S. and named Cape Breton.
Working on the ocean is not for everyone. The hours can be long and the conditions uncomfortable.
Engines run all the time and of course there is movements most times while offshore. The food
can be good or lousy. A good cook is a very important and a valuable asset.
The engine room is a major component of these types of vessels. The engines must be maintained
and all the equipment serviced regularly to keep it in top notch working order. There are the main
engines, which are similar to what diesel locomotives use. We have 2 or 3 generators that also serve
as pump engines. And there are numerous large electrical motors that run compressors and pumps.
Keeping a vessel that works constantly maintained is a tedious job. Salt air and salt water, cement
and other chemicals conatmtly blowing on the boat and of course rust never sleeps.
