Cayton Bay,with Scarborough Castle in the distance

This shot was taken from the interior of a coastal lookout post, originally sited atop the cliff behind it,in Cayton Bay,North Yorkshire,at the beginning of WW2.Coastal erosion now means that this historical monument, lies at the foot of the cliff, being pounded by the waves and slowly destroyed. This is very sad,as in its day,it was just as important as the more impressive medieval castle at Scarborough, visible in the distance.
