Thank you all and this little guy thanks you all too, after all he is the cutie that made the shot.

Cynops, I agree with you 100%, sure wish I could have gotten it a bit lower. I couldn't get much lower from where I was because that blurry stuff in the forground is a ridge of snow that was higher then he was. Drat eh? ;o)

Well followed and lit!

Excellent capture, don't get me wrong. Maybe if you had been more at ground level, it would have been a killer one. Great lighting there, it was about the moment, and you captured it very well.

The people who love the animals, have the gift to photograph them in this vivid way. I think that there's some kind of connection between your subjects and you, and this fact is reflected in the photos like this one. endika

Great shot Shirley. The snow really adds to this shot and the expression is perfect.

Charlie I think they whisper to me! :o)

Jono, This one was very close, I would say within 15-20 feet away. He was still in the woods but right beside a big tree that was close to the road, so right on the edge of the trees. This is his first winter so I wonder how he likes the snow. Funny, they really seemed to be having fun in it.

This shot is really growing on me Shirley. I think it is the timid connection with those eyes. How on earth do you get so close to all these animals? You doing some whispering??

Well, I think it's splendid - the light on the face is a real winner, and the composition is also splendid.
best wishes

Nobody have to push himself out of the norms of their own, and who can tell to win is a must. I think all is fun and good photos we can share with friends is what we need.

Thank you Brent. I'm really not in an animal rut, I do take many photos of other subjects but for some dang reason, these silly animals are what I find the most fun to look at. I know I wont win any challenges taking these and I maybe am not pushing myself hard enough to think out of my norm. But, then here is this deer within a few feet of me so hungry he doesn't even care that I open the door and snap a shot under my car door. He barely even looks.

nice exposure control with the brightness of the snow. I have never seen this view of a deers head before. The reflected light really helps fill out the shapes.
