About twelve years ago this place was part of a schoolyard which was going to be demolished, including the now 100 years old trees. We protested against the demolition by staying in the trees for two days and nights. Now they are still there and the municipality has taken the trees as the inspiration of creating a new square in the city. What a waste it would have been when they would have taken the trees down!
