DREAM~~~DARE~~~DIVE!!! :):):)

I dedicate this photo & haiku to the awesome lad next to the "16" boy... Dino Santelli, along with his loving dad, were both killed by a drunk driver on June 30, 2000. One or both were decapitated. Strangely "fulfilling a prophecy" Dino had shared in my class when he was a 5th grader... Dino's dear aunt, Genevieve Santelli Murray, was my 9th grade English teacher in 1974. Along with her husband, in 1987, they too were killed by a drunk driver. Both were decapitated. At the time of Dino's aunt's death, I was a second year teacher and the year before I taught one of her drunk driver's brothers. The incident tore apart many people in the community with how the case was handled in the courts.
Finding this photo tonight made eerie sense and had to be shared. I wish this tragic plague would end... For Dino and others I know who had their lives ripped away, I will always remember you and share of your lives the rest of my days here...

John, are you the "older" guy perhaps teacher in this picture?
What a great teacher you were and how each of your students and other students at the school must have loved and respected you.
God continue to give you guidance and blessings.

A beauiful message honoring your wonderful friends. Indeed drunk driving must end!
Your thrilling writing takes us there to share with you these sorrows.
Love you John.
