This was taken soon after the war was over. My Father was a Staff Sargeant in the army, and
has never really spoken about his time overseas. He's always said 'What's in the past is over'.
Recently he had been a little more forthcoming with some interesting stories of his service in Germany,
Austria and other parts of Europe.
After his death yesterday, November 10th, I brought his military discharge papers to the funeral home, which they asked for.
Only then did I discover that he led rifle squads into combat in various battles in Belgium and Germany. He never spoke of this!
