Dominique has brought much joy to my life as she has for many of us. She's had quite a fight for much of her life but she is filled with more life than just about anyone I know.

Our hospital is a member of the National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI) which is an advocacy group for children with illnesses. Every two years they hold a photo contest. The chosen photos tour as an exhibit which "serves as a powerful reminder to viewers that all children need children’s hospitals". The exhibit will be launched at NACHRI's spring meeting in San Francisco and will also be displayed on Capitol Hill to "encourage Congress to consider how legislative decisions impact children’s hospitals and the children they serve". The photo exhibit will also be made available for lease to NACHRI member hospitals and sponsors. "Ten top winners along with 40 additional photos were chosen for the 2007 exhibit". So, in 2007, this quick snapshot of Dominique from a birthday party held at the hospital for one of her friends will sit on Capital Hill and make its way across the Country. The photo has brought much joy to me...hopefully it will be able to do a bit more on its journey.
