Fox in Morning Light
This fox is very special to me and though gone now, I feel a spiritual connection to her and her kind. I would have many moments with her on my annual trips to Algonquin , but this was my first real experience. She had been injured as a young fox and without the loving intervention of some park workers she would have perished. Interestingly, she was a successful hunter and breeder. Becoming so used to people and they her, you could find her at the park office eagerly awaiting like a human visitor. She had many litters, all claimed by the road. In the last year of her life, finally one of her kits survived being hit by a car, though harbored the same limp she did. The next summer he was around though not tame like his mother. There will never be another "Limp" as she was called, but I will never forget her. With her, my love for wildlife caught fire.
