I stepped outside for some fresh air.
It feels like it's been weeks since I was outside the house.
The brisk air and weak winter afternoon sun was just enough to raise my spirits a bit.
I thought I'd look for a picture, something to get me moving about.
I wandered around, taking in the fresh cold smells by the lung-full.
It was good and satisfying, and helped clear some of the cobwebs.
The sunlight was beautiful and gave everything a little glow,
something I notice the camera just doesn't capture,
either that or it's all in my minds eye and non-trasferable to film or bits...
I made my way to the little yellow flowers that come up in the early spring around here.
I think they're a native wild flower of some sort.
I've seen them in every yard I've ever had here in Bakersfield.
There were a couple bees busy about, a pleasant surprise, buzzing in to frame.
The pile of old brick excavated outside the kitchen door in the ongoing yard renovation looked pretty in the late light.
The neighbor's orange tree still has quite a few fruit on it.
The rest of the trees in the back yard dropped the last of their leaves just before the holidays and now are just bare bones.
Take a deep breath and enjoy the California sunshine:
