9th: Hairy Tails

This is a macro shot of a Clematis seed cluster. The brown seed cluster is about one half inch (1.3 centimeters) across.
I love the white hairy tails coming from each seed.

Wonderful, clear detail here, bottles...love how you did the "sky" background too. Reminds me of kite flying. Very nice photo! MFC

Thanks folks for your much appreciated comments. I spotted a bush full of these seeds while taking a cold January walk in 2006. The white hairy tails glistened in the sunshine; it was really a beautiful sight. I hurried home to get the camera and returned for the shot; it turned out to be one of my favorite macro shots!

This one's pure eye-candy, bottles. It somehow has a feminine and whispy feel to it.

I enjoy viewing this one just as much as the first time I saw it, bottles. Wonderful color combination and detail, not to mention the perfect balance of those flowing lines :)
