Wake to a cool and misty morning. After breakfast, we hit the trail at 10am. Followed along the ridge, then down declivities encountering thick rattan thickets needing bashing that made progress rather slow. Descending a steep saddle, we took a wrong turning dropping too much west into Sg Ikan valley yet again!. We lost 800' in altitude. On realising mistake we had to backtrack to the crest, a costly error and what's more in heavy rain.
It jolted us, wet and drenched we were once again on the correct north-westerly heading. We lost precious time and energy . The rain continued throughout the remaining of the journey. On the last but few steep uphill slog, we collected rainwater gushing down from the trail up ahead. A series of pulls soon brought us on the peak of G.6040'on the side of Pahang and Kelantan divide. We made camp on a rather restricted level ground, somehow we managed to squezze and pitch our 3 two-man tents. After dinner we sat around the campfire underneath a starry night talking and whiling the night away.
