There were five girls - then Derek was delivered
With dark, dancing eyes and one single dimple
His demure demeanor is quick to dazzle
As he drinks in the world in a daydream design

Make no mistake about this endearing bundle
That playful, devilish grin hides a deep thinker
Just watch him hone in on the tiniest of details
While he amuses himself with toys or just tinkers

Determined to walk early - no dawdling for him
Couldn’t wait to dart off to some prime destination
Deliberately focused in a distinct direction
Leaving him delirious with his dynamic discoveries

Make no mistake about this endearing bundle
He’ll always take time to hug dearly and cuddle
Letting you know how much you were blessed
On that delightful June day when Derek was born!
