Cowboy's ol' Saddle

Abilene, Texas

I got permission from a rancher out side of Abilene to do some exploring. I found a very old house and went in. It turned out to be an old bunk house for the cowboys, years ago. I was told later that this old saddle and others had been there for over 25 years without being moved. I got a lot of very nice shots that day.

Hi Don. The composition is reminiscent of Jono's work [to a layman's eye like my own]. Though the post processing seems a bit flat. No doubt it could be my monitor. But, as soon as I saw the thumbnail I though "Jono" and clicked to see a bigger image. Please understand, from me, this is to be taken as a big compliment. Rick.

Tim, I thought vignetting was a sign that I was not using a good wide angle lens on my camera. I did not realize it could be used artistically.

Exact ditto y comment on your previous shot: traditionally, a polariser would accentuate the dramatic composition but darkening the blue and adding vignetting here would do the trick...
