Just something to close out the gallery with. A true joy is to be at Colusa NWR at sunset while a full moon rises over the Sutter Buttes. For our class, the moon was relatively high in the sky by sunset, but the spectacle of the Sutter Buttes, of ducks and geese whirling about in fading light, and of Great Horned Owls calling from the adjacent cottonwoods was a fitting end to our first day of the trip.
