Yes, we do see this all the time. Homeless, hungry. I have
many photos over the years, but have never been one to exploit
or explore this. My hat's off to those who do, but it is a sensitive,
delicate topic that should be handled with care, and respect to your subjects.
I hear the call, and I'm sympathetic, but as a New Yorker, also cynical. You don't
know who's for real, and who's not. Still I did give the lady a little cash. You never
know if you ever find yourself in the dumps one day. She couldn't have chosen a better
place for this though...right across the street from Macy's
"the world's largest department store."
Note: I used the Sony R1's versatile lcd as a waist-level finder
and it was great for street shots like this.
