Phil and I have been having a dialog about ravens in his galleries, so it's great to see another photographer including this amazing species on his site. This is a good portrait, showing the large eyes and huge beak of one of the most intelligent creatures in the animal kingdom, and one that has been studied in great depth by a scientist named Bernd Heinrich. I like the cropping of this picture since it suggests the power and size of the raven.
