Mel and I took some friends on a drive through part of the monument about ten miles away from our home in central Arizona when we took this photo from the car window. Black-throateds are probably our favorite local sparrows, and one of these days we will have to set up a "photo shoot day" out in the yard to try and capture some close-up images of these incredible birds.
