I like coffee a lot. These are the two machines I have on the kitchen counter. The one on the left is a Black and Decker Brew N' Go which has been the workhorse for me for many years. This is the second one I have owned, the first one got worn out. The one on the right is a Mr. Coffee expresso maker and it doesn't work worth a crap. It leaks around the basket, consequently, the internal pressure doesn't get high enough to push the water through the coffee grounds. One of those thermodynamics things.

Recently I have been thinking about how to make the best coffee using the Brew N' Go. I have found that if you stir the bed of coffee with a spoon you get much better extraction and really full bodied coffee, which I like. Add a little cocoa powder, sweetener and real by-god heavy whipping cream, and there you have a magnificent cup of coffee. Not one of those Starbuck's overpriced, insipidly named, weak, over flavored crappy cups of coffee that everybody just HAS TO HAVE once a day. I think that whole thing is a racket. It makes manly men ask for a latte grande (or worse, a decaf latte grande), which sounds like a pink tutu to me. You won't find me using those words in public! Sounds a bit limp wristed. I just gotta laugh every time we go to Kroger and see people forking out 3 bucks at the Starbuck's for a cup of shitty coffee. I think they would be much better off just buying some of their cups to tote around and make some decent coffee at their house. Then they could look trendy without having to gag on Starbuck's coffee.

Of course, I could be wrong.

Cost comparison for all Starbucks consumers ---
2 pounds on Folgers Coffeehouse Series Gourmet Supreme Dark grounds = $5
-- Makes approximately 200 cups of coffee
4 small plain coffee of the days at Starbucks = $6
-- Approximately 50 times more expensive
-- You can even buy a drip coffee maker and the 2 pound can of grounds and still come
with coffee that is 10 times cheaper per cup
