Edith Cavell (1865-1915) was a nurse of the Belgium Red Cross in Brussels.
She aided more than 200 allied soldiers to escape from behind enemy lines in Germany into freedom in Holland, via the underground railroad.
Her capture led to her execution by firing squad.
After the war Edith Cavell's body was exhumed and returned to the UK.
She was reburied on at the east end of Norwich Cathedral.
Every year a service is held before the grave.
