In 2011, the General Service Administration (GSA) solicited inputs from private sectors for redevelopment of this historical building. In July 2014, The Trump Organization broke ground on this site. In September 2016, it opened as Trump International Hotel. After Donald Trump is inaugurated as POTUS, his hotel became a favorite meeting place for power players, including lobbyists and diplomats.
