Hi Bruce and thanks! You're right, it looks good however you photograph it.

Sorry Flick but I've only just noticed this. It really is excellent!

Hi Shirley. thank you!
I altered the exposure in PP, or at least I used curves to darken the image to give that slightly film set feel. The original colour shot at the correct exposure is equally valid but just a diferent image altogether.
It might interest you to know that they were recently filming Philip Pullman's Northern Lights in that area.
Thanks again for commenting.

I like so much about this Flick! I don't think you could improve on anything. The tones are perfect, the shadows are perfect and the fence in the forground is perfect. It reminds me of a movie (and for the life of me I can't think of which one) it was a horror film, "The Omen" maybe, where some priest falls out a window and gets impalled on a fence that looks like this one. Ewww what a way to go huh?

Thank you Charlie.
I've been through the art school system, where you learn how far you can bend the theme, but sometimes a literal interpretation is just what you want. I must look properly through the rest of the images and get commenting!

Classic Flick. So many repeating elements going on here. Excellent take on the theme. It reminds me just how easy it is to be overly literal when choosing pics for these.(my 3 shots) Nice work......

Very interesting interaction between the foreground circle of the bike and the backround circle of the architecture, very clever. Love the composition and light here, very well done!

Thanks Marc: this was a pot shot taken when i first got the E1 and was mucking about getting to know it.

Two orientations, a very symmetric composition. I quite like the conversion to sepia.
