The countryside between Longbredy and Litton Cheney. Longbredy village lies behind the small hill covered in dark green vegetation on the left of the picture. On the horizon, about a quarter of the way from the left edge can be seen Hardye's monument, erected not for Thomas Hardy, the author, but the British seaman to whom Nelson said when dying ' kiss me Hardye'.
