Foggy Sunrise, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, 2006

The mood of a foggy sunrise is silence. Except for sporadic cries of the ravens and the shrill birdlike bugling of distant male elk, the fog clings to the ground in utter quiet.
I used the road in this image to carry the eye deep into the abstracting fog. Both forest and road vanish in the center of the image. Your own imagination must pick up the journey from there.

I am delighted that you left a comment on this image. It has been posted now for six months and I was beginning to think that nobody would respond. I knew you would like this one as soon as I saw your own remarkable fog bound image today athttp://www.pbase.com/image/75872774 Thank you. The forest fire that burned through this area in 1988 was very much in mind as I made this image.

How did I miss this Phil? I'm so glad you directed me to it. (Must be one of the galleries that's gotten ahead of me with all your travels.) I've always loved fog and the atmosphere it creates. Your sunrise adds such a golden hue, this could almost be mistaken for the thick smoke of a forest fire. This is just the type image my imagination likes, mysterious and abstract.
