Lovely. Reminds me of the opening shot in Aguirre - Wrath of God, one of my favorite films. You can get lost in it,

Thanks Cynops and Flick.
If there is anyone that should know about the mysterious and the beautiful, it is certainly you Mistress Flick.

I've kept meaning to comment on this. Very beautiful and mysterious, like a glimpse of the beyond.

Thanks Endika,
It is truly an honor to be able to touch someone with a photograph. OT, there is a fair Basque population in Wyoming. The vast majority of the ones that I have met are wonderful people who are sheepherders in the mountainous regions of the state. Must be the mountain thing.

The one half of the soul of a Basque like me is the sea; the another half is the mountains... and clouds. You've touched somewhat deep in my heart. endika

Thanks guys,
Charlie, Casper mountain is located at south edge of Casper, Wyoming. This location is probably between 10 to 15 miles (as the crow flies) from my house but would probably require a drive of 35 to 40 miles to get there.

Brent, This isn't even the top of the mountain as it was obscured in the clouds. Check the original to be able to see that the angle of view is not looking down on the mountain. Casper has an elevation of 5,123 feet while the mountain has an elevation of 8,130 feet. Casper is located between my house and the mountain. The sand dune that I live one is several hundred feet higher than Casper but still almost 3000 feet lower than the mountain. -- Bob K.

Good grief! Now if you could see me you would see a green face. Being a flatlander where 200 feet is high - this looks like a view from an airplane. Very, very cool.

Great pic and very on theme Bob. Oh how I miss living in the mountains. Care to share the location? That is one hell of a front yard.

Thanks Shirley,
IMHO the Rocky Mountain states offer a diverse wealth of beautiful scenery and wildlife. Unlike you, I do not do any traveling. Other a brief journey last fall, all of my images have been taken here locally. For this shot, I removed the glass from the screen door and shot this from my living room. -- Bob K.

This is beautiful Bob! I've been to Wyoming but only around Devil's Tower area. I really need to take a good trip again soon.
