With Sr. Olivia - Mother Superior of the RVM sisters in Rome - at the Via Ostiense.
Behind us is the Pyramid of Caius Cestius set into the Aurelian Wall near Porta San Paolo.
It is built of brick and faced with white marble; according to an inscription, it took just 330 days to build in 12 BC.
Caius was a wealthy but unimportant 1st-century praetor, or senior magistrate. At this time there
was a craze for all things Egyptian, so he commissioned himself a pyramid as a tomb.
