Early morning at the Roman Forum beside the Colosseum.
At right is the Arch of Constantine (AD 315), one of Imperial Rome's last monuments built before Constantine moved the capital of the Empire to Byzantium.
It was built to celebrate the Emperor's victory over his co-emperor Maxentius at the Battle of the Milvian Bridge.
Most of the reliefs here were taken from earlier pagan monuments.
