The Royal Flanders Arts House was designed in the Flemish Renaissance style by architect Edward De Vigne.

The mosaic roof scene was painted by C. Montald. It is a mythological scene depicting "Apollo and the Muses of Parnassus".
This work is an ode to the performing arts and was completed in 1898.
