Here’s one of the galgo’s I talked to Sunday, on galgo day.
She’s a brindle like me, but she has a real galgo nose, unlike me…
Some say ‘galga’, some say galgo, to a galgo girl. Anyway…
This girl told me about her old life in Spain. She was trained to be a racer.
But she wasn’t fast enough. Other dogs beat her on the track.
This was a real bad time for her. Her Spanish human hit her and yelled at her.
Then he sold her to a group of humans that lived in houses on wheels.
They too hit her and kicked her around, even burned her skin. Gave her no food.
One night she managed to escape, she ran and ran. Ended up in a dog shelter.
From there she was brought to The Netherlands. Started a new life with good humans.
She okay now. It’s a lot like my own story. Many galgo’s have a similar history.
Some stories are a lot worse. The law in Spain must change so that dogs are protected too!
It's important.
Have a super Tuesday evenybody
