Afternoon Talks

I took this photo months ago, but never uploaded it.
I still don't make much photos outside, especially when
there are people "in the way of the camera". I'm shy when
it comes to shooting like that.
Sometimes I try though :)

I've never felt like this photo was good enough for Pbase,
but I was going through some older files and I found myself
looking at this one and missing those amazing winter sunsets
that can be seen, from Lisbon's castle. That young couple was
there waiting for the sunset, like me, though we've kept ourselves
occupied in different ways until the sunset time came.

It's funny how the winter light always seems so much warmer
than the summer one....

I love this, and not just for the light. The comp and mood are fantastic.

wonderful moment captured

Such wonderful light, elements and composition.

The composition of this image is very interesting, with this couple litterally hinding - or trying to hide, in the corner and in the shadow. They are surrounded by the glow, and that makes in fact a hightlight. Of course, the green shoes are terrific, and the light is very warm indeed. Very nice candid, Ana!

The exposure,the moment captured,the composition...everything ... so well done!!!
And yes, those green boots are crazy cool.

The low, golden light wraps this couple in the cocoon of their intimacy. They're huddled together in that corner, somewhat tiny against the imposing stone wall and towering tree shadow. I think you did a great shot with this people shot, Ana. I, too, feel hesitant when trying to photograph people.

Beautiful - the golden light, the line the shadow of the tree makes across the pic and the shoes! Plus the moment.
Guest 16-Oct-2006 11:31
... those green shoes...

The tree seems like a shelter for the couple. The light and mood is beautiful. Sensual!!!

Doesn't it? The winter light is always so much warmer...The shadow of the tree is so strong that it makes you think that it's the actual tree leaning towards the couple...Lovely picture Ana...

I love this. Lighting is awesome, and yes I agree - there's something about the colour that tells you this is a winter sunset. The shadow of the tree that grows over them as if it were a real tree. So beautiful. For me tho, this is all about the couple. Absolutely exquisite moment. Just enough light on the man's face to reveal his closeness. The girls feet, rolling slightly outwards are amazing. Such powerful bodylanguage. This is shot from a distance but none of the intimacy is lost. I can almost hear them whisper. Superb

Beautiful, contrasty lighting on this candid! Superb sharpness, and detail emphasized by the lighting. It's great how the two lovebirds are in the shadow. You should post more of these shots Ana, it's superb! :-)

You were right to ressurect this one and it shows you can do candids if you want to,even if you don't want to. :) The sense of scale here, placing them in the corner literally overshadowed by the tree enhances the sense of a private moment as does her hand gesture suggest a secret being told. Her green boots are a hoot! Extremely well done, Ana.
