12,000 hits - time to ditch Denise?

This is a newly processed crop of what you the PBase viewers have judged to be my
best picture of all time - if hits are any indication of a pictures merit.

The original version is shown below and in 20 months has clocked up 12,000 hits.

It's a bit frustrating when most of my better pictures attract between 500 and 2,000 hits.
But then they generally don't feature female curves quite so prominently! I don't feel this picture and a few like it are representative of my current pictures.

In the interests of artistic integrity, do you think I should now delete the original from
my galleries? I'm fascinated to know what you think.

yes I understand...but it is very moody in BW with this crop!

I'm just curious how many hits she got the second time around!

Keep her. Absolutely. Keep both for sure.

I do like your new version - of course now you'll up those 12,000 hits even more ;o) Keep it & let us know when it gets to 50,000 hits, then print it & start selling it!! ;o)

Keep her going! History is the foundation of the future.

I think we are all a bunch of boobs to be so fascinated! ;-

Keep it :) Nicely processed.

With 12000 hits the shot is a classic. Keep it.
Guest 17-Oct-2006 13:04
Between 500 and 2000 hits each ? crikey im lucky i get 50 per picture.
Keep it.

Keep her. You'll never know if some AD (G)oogles her and finds your work, then someone could be taking the paparzrri shot of the famous photog, JW!

Understand about the pain, too. Put in down to the total body of work presentation.

We sometimes don't like it when one image gets a huge amount of hits while one we feel is much better languishes on the sidelines. I think the difference is often in a name and how it shows up on a search on pbase or google. Which makes me think. Why not post a picture and name it "Paris Hilton" or something and see how it goes?

Well, it's not many men who get to make the decision to dump Denise Van Outen; you are a lucky fellow! I love the cropped version; there's a lot more mood and character in it - one almost wonders what she's thinking there. I've quite enjoyed making the comparison - I say keep both! ;o)

I think tah the crop and the treatment are really good!

That outfit requires tape :o

I love the new cropped version but never ditch the original as PBase veiwers loved her as they have proved keep her to see how many more hits she gets!
It has to be the most popular shot on PBase!
Can you find out?

I share your pain, my #1 is a shot of Elvira from 20 years ago. Looks nothing like my other work, but gets the most hits by a long shot. I'll delete if you will! ;)
Gary Winters16-Oct-2006 02:54
Ditch her. That's my story and i'm sticking to it.
Dan Chusid16-Oct-2006 02:51
Like the original much better.
Don't know who she is either.
Coleen Perilloux Landry16-Oct-2006 00:07
Why ditch it? You took it; you like it. Keep it.
I have found that my photos of female body parts and photos of anything relating to violence or tragedy have been the photos with the most hits. That does not mean mine were good photos, just photos that attracted attention .

I like the b&w cropped version best. The expression on her face, and the people in the background slightly out of focus makes for an interesting composition.
Photos that feature people always get more hits, and if there's an attractive woman in the picture, it will certainly get lots of attention.
joanteno15-Oct-2006 22:22
I will give you absolute proof that hits are false measure of the quality of the picture. My number one picture with highest number of hits is a picture of me in front of stonehedge. It has over 3000 hits. Makes absoutely no sense to me!

I love the paparazzi appeal of the shot John and of course she's pretty to look at as well. But unless you have reasons to ditch it I'd keep it. I don't like every photo I click on here at pbase, but the fact that it gets me to click on it deserves something, :)
Guest 15-Oct-2006 21:22
Am I supposed to know who Denise is? I feel very out of touch. lol I like this b/w version the best... But I like closely cropped pictures of faces, and the little girl's expression is beautiful. People love sex. Sex sells... Your photography is superb. If you want to ditch Denise, I say do it. If you want to keep her, I say do it. :)
Guest 15-Oct-2006 21:20
I think that each of them express something else; keep them!!!
Guest 15-Oct-2006 21:10
I think your modified version is at least twice as good as the original - very well done!
Zak15-Oct-2006 21:08
did you get her autograph? :D
Ray :)15-Oct-2006 20:40
Well, by nature I am a hoarder and never throw away anything! If you re-uploaded the original from scratch without revealing her identity, I wonder how many hits it would get?
