Dragonfly On the Wing (Common Green Darner)

Capturing a dragonfly on the wing is tough.

They have to hover long enough and close enough to get a decent focus lock on them. (My zoom only goes to 200mm.) These critters didn't often want to get close enough so the autofocus could track them instead of the background trees. When I was able to acquire focus they seemed to dart off just as I engaged the shutter leaving me with nothing but a green fuzzy background. I did manage to get this one before my family grew impatient with my dragonfly stalking.
