It is interesting photo. Lots of people in fog or rain and one lamp above them. Photo with question “where are they going in such terrible weather?”

Very intense, i love it!

I agree with Phil Douglis.
And this pic (and the whole gallery) is so perfectly photographed.

Have you studied any of the work of Bill Henson? I think you will find something to like..
You make it seem here that the people are drawn to the light like moths. I wonder what they hope to learn.

this is also my favorite. the suggestion of detail in the face of the man at the right is a wonderful counterpoint to the ensemble view. Beautiful.

My favourite!!
Well... I can still change my mind since I love them all, but for now, this is my favourite.

I have to agree with Jude - one of the best, but it is impossible to say which one is the best!

one of my favorites - the mob of people give a feeling of something about to happen - the person facing our way gives this a special touch.. as if he's not sure he wants to follow.

One of the great difficulties I find in looking at anyone's work is that I tend to reset the equation, so to speak, based on the quality of their work overall. As a result, pictures that are simply stunning may be overlooked. This is one of those pictures. The use of light and atmosphere is brilliant. More than that, it harkens to a time when gathering under a lamp post had eminent social value. It reeks of history, and it is a superb work of art. zM

A scene that could have been shot by Brassai, as for example his Avenue de L'observtoire

(http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.ackland.org/art/exhibitions/seasonsofparis/avenuedlobservatoire.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.ackland.org/art/exhibitions/seasonsofparis/avenuedelobservatoire.html&h=1025&w=1317&sz=165&hl=en&sig2=C-BdPvf0WoDOFNf9EJdLOw&start=19&tbnid=BLopPMiJlndweM:&tbnh=117&tbnw=150&ei=3RgxRebRH8PSJMrS_IAB&prev=/images%3Fq%3DBrassai%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DX )

Were you aware of his work, Christine? He loved to shoot by night, often in the fog, to abstract his images so that the figures become obscure, universersal, and mysterious.
