On-route from Ice Strait Point toward Juneau, we saw numerous whales and orcas...about 45 in a 24-hour period. I found photographing them from a distant ship quite a challenge. I never knew where they would appear, and they didn't stay visible but a few seconds each "visit". This kind of photography should be done from small boats in the direct vicinity of the whales.
