I know a Dalmatian who lives in Canada and fishes commerically. He said he can't sleep on a metal or plastic boat. If it's not wood, he doesn't want to work on it. Where I am in NW Alaska wooden boats are being replaced by aluminum and fiberglass. But there are still men who build their own boats, and those are wooden.
