Au p'tit café...

Café dans Outremont sur Laurier

Relaxing in a Café and appreciating life at a smaller scale...
*
I was on Laurier street the other day, in beautiful and lively Outremont.
I was with Yves that day, he was having his coffee
while i was quietly observing the world around me
and enjoying my Tchai Latte.
A tall young handsome man, dressed for summer, was sitting at the next table.
He was also observing the world or was he just reflecting...?
He was putting words down on a page that was becoming less white.
His writing was delicate and regular.
A nice contrast with his athletic body and strong hand.
But he was gentle in his way of taking pause on the paper
while reflecting and observing or reminiscing perhaps...
Immobile, his writing hand was waiting for words to be aligned.
The other hand, the left one, was holding on to the paper
in a very artistic and beautiful way, i was dying to take a picture
but... did not follow the pulse of the moment. The light was so magical too...
I am sure it would have been a very nice one.
Sigh, out of respect and i suppose, some deep rooted conventions,
i did not aim and shoot.
Yves took a ton of different newspapers.
One of his ways to connect with the rest of the world.
I like that of him, but
I do not have that urge where governments, Wall street
and mundanities are concerned...

So, on the pile of his reading material, that was getting bigger and messier,
a bug that normally would have inspire me some fear became friendly,
beautiful and intriguing.
The angle of the sun was just right in that gorgeous mid morning of October,
and the bug gave me the impression it was reading...like Yves but upside down!
The image was ideal so...i captured it!
And the shadow of the bug....awwww!!
I just loved it!
Ah, little things that make me feel so good...
*
p.s. The shadow inspires me cartoons characters,
perhaps that is how Walt Disney and his followers were inspired too?!!

What a great photo! I wonder whether that bug found what it was looking for. Perhaps reliving such a moment from a previous life?

Twitching and feeling
With curious nature
Of the world marked
By peculiar passages
Of all element and beast.
Grand and bold
Beyond my comprehension.

Quite a unique photo! The angle of the print and the shadow cast by this bug really play well here. Nice job!
