Hmmm, it is really hard for me to judge distances (that and ages!!! lol)...
We were parked at the side of the highway along with 23,641 other cars - haha! - cuz the moose was in the field trying to CROSS the highway. Mating season you see... probably a sweet-smelling lady moose on the other side...
I would say maybe 150 feet? Close enough that when he started walking our way, I got a little scared. A few leaps more - if his instincts won over his fear - and he could have crushed some of our cars badly... Eeeek...
