Only a few sites in the Flagstaff area have these unusually large rooms.
They are believed to indicate "Chief Villages" where the religious and social leaders lived.
People throughout the Mt. Elden area may have come here to participate in ceremonies that were important to the entire region.

On the morning that I visited there was a school class on a field trip.
