The start of a field exercise to attack a fortified enemy stronghold post in a wooded area at Fort Gordon, Georgia. Two squads of Augusta Boots "trainees" in full battle gear with blank ammunition and smoke bombs.The objective enemy post was about one and a half miles away and defended by 15 enemy defenders. Bob Searl, WWII veteran age 88 years in full combat gear was last soldier in line on right flank squad, a proud and determined participant.
