I do so agree with you Brent. Here in Spain we are very lucky that it's a big (for Europe) country with a lowish population so lots of open spaces. Nevertheless, like everywhere else development continues apace........ Frank

I don't know if it is the same there, Frank. Here they pay someone to get the fields to look like this :-) This is a section of land that has been given over to parkland and they are changing it over to Oak Savanahs. It has some really huge old oaks - they cut back the shrub trees in order to give the Oaks room to grow... Very pretty. Better use than funding a new Walmart IMO. The area is huge - in the area of the city where I live there are a lot of huge natural park areas. It is sad to see so much land going over to development - but it is heartening to know that someone is preserving some land as well.

Um like ya know I was so totally like kidding right? Like do you live on a farm er sumthing? I bet there are lots of bugs huh? Gross! Yes Badlands is a magical place. It does however have that feel of being 1000 sq miles of cemetary. I like this pic very much in all it's light filled simplicity. Charlie

And I quote from Flick's lead in post "If you don't live in a city, no worries: your street could be a country track or trail and the occupiers farm workers or even livestock or wildlife" Harumph! Isn't it amazing that something so simple could light up so well? I want to go to South Dakota where my Dad grew up (they had a ranch outside Wall - near the Badlands)
