The SGGJ line Sala-Gävle was closed in 1964 but some remaining freight traffic continued in the ends of the line for some years. The track was torn up in several stages from 1970 and onwards. However, the short stump down Hagaström-Mackmyra survived until around 1980, whereafter this elegant bridge became obsolete
