It must be the end of summer. I say that for two main reasons: firstly, the English schools have gone back; and secondly, the camera club has started again. And that's not to mention the distinctly autumnal weather we've been having of late. Anyway, at the camera club we were treated to the usual first night holiday snaps. I should have known better after last year, but hey, you take the rough with the smooth!
This is a picture of my old Konica Pop, which was a 21st birthday present from work colleagues. A real 1980s icon, this camera used to go everywhere with me. That was back when I could blame the camera for my failings in the photography department. But with a fixed focal length of 35mm and a fixed aperture of f/4 (although it does have three ISO settings - 100, 200, and 400) it was a bit limited... so it was an easy target! I'm going to get some black and white film and take some snaps with it!
My good friend Gavin has suffered a major disaster. His DSLR has died on him - the electronics seem to have fried. Not a nice thing to happen at any time, but certainly not when he has just started a photography course. I hope that he can get it fixed, and that it won't be too expensive.
