Situated at the head of the Plessur Valley, at an elevation of 1,800 m (5,904 ft), Arosa is one of the highest resort towns in Switzerland. Surrounded by small lakes and forested mountains it boasts tremendous views from every cafe (image), and some of the best skiing locations in the area.
It also has the distinction of being one of the few towns from which our group was asked to (and I quote), "Never return to Arosa!"
I attibuted that misunderstanding and subsiquent directive to an incompatibility of cultural sense of humours.
We do plan to return to Arosa some day. It's been a few years; I'm sure they've repaired the damage by now.
