There were five main winches for working sheets and the boom. They had two speeds and were designed by one of the
engineers involved with constructing this boat. It carried a full set of Hood sails, the largest being a spinnaker of 4800
square feet. Sailing was an interesting experience, but attempting a full afternoon of racing maneuvers was pretty tiring.
The spinnaker poles are about eight inch diameter aluminum tubes, using the full rig was serious work. Though never successful
as a product, the vessel did provide some weekend entertainment for a few of the company's engineering wage slaves.
