Another thing we do as ETTs, is to go on patrols with the Afghan National Army soldiers we are training. Unlike conventional forces where we train together as teams and communication is not hindered by a language barrier, there are two ETTs per Company of ANA soldiers. So when things go wrong out here, there is only you, your partner, and the ANA soldiers you have been training. Help could be a long way away.
