Ms. Blue

Went and visited the Seymour Marine Discovery Center, just north of Santa Cruz.

It is part of the a research and education facility of the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Here is a skeleton of a Blue Whale which is 87 feet long and 18 feet high.

Here is a web page on its history at the center : http://seymourcenter.ucsc.edu/skeleton.html

other sizes: small medium original auto

Very nice. The people do give it a nice scale.

Interesting view...

How impressive, I feel both the people and the building show her enourmous size. Well taken!

I remember seeing the skeleton at this site in a TV programme a while ago. Astonishing size - with the people to give a good sense of scale.

I like your image better than the image on the center's site. You have people in your shot. That gives us a good sense of Ms Blue's size.

That is gigantic! Very interesting.

You post some interesting images and facts.
Recently we have had many sitings of dolphins and whales in areas where they would not normally be found - must be the global warming having an effect.
