_MG_6966 Post Office Window (see story below)

Grantham NH

I talked the post office in Grantham NH into letting me post various local images on the wall there, one image at a time. The wall space is next to the door to where you pass thru to buy your stamps etc. Outside the door in the lobby are all the post office boxes and 75% in our little town go there to get their mail - some mail is delivered to home mail boxes on a couple of postal routes, but most prefer to pick up their mail. One day when getting my mail, I noticed this image shown here thru the window and screen (flower box outside) off the lobby exit. I took the shot and posted it. I would expect that 95% of those entering the post office walk by the picture and don't ever see it, and 95 % of those that do - do not connect it with what they see when they, then turn, and walk out the door. Beauty is all around us and it is sad how many people fail to see it. One of my greatest joys is when one of my images prompts somebody to say:"Oh I know where that is. I never looked at it like that!" Again, since I can't hang around the post office all day - I never know if anyone ever says that about my work - but I keep trying ;-)

I think it makes a great picture! I've taken several such shots, called inside/outside. Here the screen almost turns the reality to "works on paper" because of the dots per inch effect.
